Industrial Medicine

Our Promise to you...

To offer ergonomic training and consultative services that will allow you to reduce your workers compensation costs, insure compliance with OSHA, and provide a safe working environment for the members of our communities.

Industrial Medicine Program is designed to save you money and increase the productivity of your employees.

We offer comprehensive and affordable ergonomic consultation in an effort to significantly reduce your workers compensation costs. Also, North Dakota Worker’s Compensation will give you a 5% discount on your premium with an approved Ergonomic Program.

We can help you achieve significant goals

  • (1) increase workplace safety,
  • (2) increase worker productivity,
  • (3) decrease your worker’s compensation costs.

Our program is divided into four phases: Initial consultation, implementation, follow-up, and maintenance. These phases include a thorough evaluation of workplace design, job-specific ergonomics training for management and employees, appropriate corrective measures and enforcement policies for your program.

Successful ergonomic programs we have experience in implementing are:

  • 1979 John Deere began using ergonomic principles to reduce the incidence of injuries in the workplace. Since then, John Deere has seen an 83% reduction in workplace injuries and has reduced workers compensation by 32%.
  • 1995 Heart of America Medical Center instituted an ergonomic and workplace safety program. In the first year, workers compensation costs were reduced by 95% and lost workdays by 97%. A significant refund from worker’s compensation was received due to the approved Risk Safety Management Program. As a matter of fact the HAMC Safety program received honors in 2000 *See Story

    *"HAMC SAFETY PROGRAM RECEIVES HONORS"

Gary Dosch, Chairman of the Board is pictured here acknowledging the efforts of the Safety Committee. Safety Committee members Fairy Bosley and Jim Frueh are representing a committee of 7 employees at HAMC.

The Heart of America Medical Center Safety Program has recently received an unexpected refund from the ND Workers Compensation Bureau. This honor was bestowed upon the Safety Committee for their continued efforts in a program created only five short years ago.

This program monitors the employee injury from the date of the incident through a return to work program. An on-site nurse or the dedicated medical provider evaluates the injury immediately. Whether it be return to light duty or part time the goal is to return the worker back to the work force as soon as safely possible.

ND Workers Compensation Bureau forwarded a reimbursement check to the Heart of America Medical Center for $77,351.13. This was awarded for experience rated credit and betterment to expected losses calculation from the last 5 years. The experience rate for the year 2001 premium will be a rate of –40.2%.

Not only has the program cut actual injuries but also decreased lost days of work from several thousand work days per year to as little as “zero” lost days in recent years.

WHAT WORKED FOR US CAN WORK FOR YOU.
