Hospice Endowment Fund

The Hospice Endowment Fund was established in November or 2000 to help provide for the future or the Hospice Program in Rugby. The fund was initiated with $50,000 in matching funds being provided by the Foundation.

Within 7 months the goal of raising this amount was met through memorials, fundraisers, outright donations and pledges. At that point the Hospice Committee came back and asked the Foundation for another $50,000 in matching funds. As of the end of September 2002 the Hospice Endowment Fund has raised over $82,000.00, with the matching funds provided by the Foundation the Fund has over $164,000.00.

On Saturday October 5th the Foundation hosted the 4th Annual Creations Auction with proceeds going to the Hospice Endowment fund for the 2nd year in a row. Along with the auction the Hospice quilt will also be raffled. Both of these fundraisers have proven to be a great success with the help of many generous and talented people throughout the area. This years Auction made $2,104 and the raffle brought in $1,237.00

In November as part of our campaign to build the Hospice Endowment Fund we will be sending out our annual appeal. As part of the appeal the Foundation will be asking for donations and pledges. The Foundation still has matching funds available and is determined to meet the goal of establishing a $200,000 fund for Hospice. Please keep your eye open for the annual appeal in November.
