COVID-19 Updates from Heart of America Medical Center
Rugby, ND –
 
With increased positivity rates in surrounding areas Heart of America Medical Center has put the following policies in place.
 
  • Visitation will only be allowed for patients and residents receiving compassionate care, no other visitation will be allowed. This is effective immediately for patients in our acute hospital, residents in our long term care center, Haaland Estates and Haaland Home. Masks are required and should be provided by the individual(s).
 
  • The Johnson Clinic will begin drive up COVID-19 testing for symptomatic patients on Monday, October 26, 2020. Testing will take place at Haaland Estates parking garages. Drive up testing will be available 8:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday – Friday. This testing is only available for established patients of our Johnson Clinic that have been seen by our providers with in the last year. Patients must call the Johnson Clinic to schedule their drive up appointment. All testing will be sent to the state lab for analysis. There may be a cost associated with this testing.
 
  • Rapid testing at HAMC is not available to the public unless they are being admitted to the acute hospital or presenting as a pre procedural surgical patient. If you are asymptomatic and are wanting to be tested for COVID-19 contact your local county Public Health office.
 
  • Masks are still required at all facilities and if possible should be provided by the patient. Individuals who are picking up prescriptions at HOA Clinic Pharmacy will be asked to wait in their vehicles for curbside delivery or utilize our mail out services if they are not wearing a self-provided mask.
