Heart of America Rehabilitation and Wellness Center is a teaching facility, where physical therapy students complete their clinical affiliations.
Each student is assigned a clinical instructor, but will work with a variety of therapists and healthcare professionals on and off the Heart of America Medical Center campus.
Students see a wide range of clients during their six- to nine-week affiliations, including pediatric and geriatric patients, amputees, athletes with sports injuries, individuals dealing with work injuries, and clients in need of neuro, cardiac and orthopedic rehabilitation.
Institutions that send students to HAMC for clinical affiliations include: University of North Dakota, Grand Forks; University of Mary, Bismarck; Williston (N.D.) State College; and Northland Community and Technical College, East Grand Forks, Minn.
Students who will be completing their clinical affiliation at Heart of America Rehabilitation & Wellness Center can find out more in the Living and Learning subpage.
