GSHA Board Trustees Approve Build EMS Capital Campaign
January 19, 2026
The Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation Board of Trustees has officially approved the Build EMS Capital Campaign, marking a major milestone in strengthening emergency medical services in Rugby and surrounding rural North Dakota communities.
This campaign will fund the construction of a new EMS Station at Heart of America Medical Center, providing our dedicated EMS crews with a modern, fully equipped facility to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
The recent Twice Blessed campaign demonstrated the community’s overwhelming support, raising $37,233.50, far surpassing the $10,000 matching gift provided by the INSPIRITUS Community Health Foundation. These funds give the Build EMS campaign a strong start and momentum to bring this vital project to life.
With the Board’s approval, the campaign can now move forward, and the Foundation looks forward to continued community partnership to ensure rural North Dakota has the emergency response resources it deserves.

Dear GSHS Foundation Supporters,
I hope this letter finds you well and in good health. On behalf of Good Samaritan Health Services (GSHS) Foundation, I want to express our sincere gratitude for your ongoing support and commitment to improving healthcare in our community. Over the years, generous contributions have made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals. Donations have played a critical role in many projects from our Build 2024 Campaign, Twice Blessed, Heart of America Hospice, and multiple building renovations, and essential equipment purchases that directly enhance the quality of care we provide.
It's not about the services within the hospital walls; your support has a ripple effect throughout our community. We strive to positively influence the well-being of those beyond our immediate facility. Your contributions enable us to extend our reach and make a lasting difference in the lives of families and individuals in our surrounding area.
As we continue our mission to provide exceptional healthcare, we are currently focusing on Build 2024, Otto Bremer Trust Matching Grant, and the Rugby Health Endowment. Your support in these endeavors will help advance the well-being of our communities through compassionate, patient-centered care. Thank you once again for being a vital part of our healthcare community. Together, we can continue to make a positive and lasting impact on the health and well-being of those we serve.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Joshua Mattson
