EMS and Ambulance

Rugby Emergency Medical Services respond to medical and traumatic emergencies and provide advanced life support and medical transportation in the five-county area served by Heart of America Medical Center.


Being a hospital based ambulance service, we assist throughout the hospital where help is needed in an emergency capacity.


Our staff assist in ER, Acute Care, Hospice along with other hospital departments. Besides doing 911 responses, we also provide interfacility transfers of patient’s to a higher level care. Our interfacility transfers go to Minot, Bismarck, Grand Forks and occasionally Fargo.

Our emergency response team includes: licensed EMT-paramedics, Advanced EMT’s, and EMT Basics. We provide Advanced Life support intercepts to the surrounding volunteer ambulance services in Leeds, Maddock, Rolette, and Towner; and local fire and rescue first-responder units. Aero medical service is provided by Trinity Hospital in Minot, Sanford Air Med in both Bismarck and Fargo, and Altru Care Flight out of Grand Forks.

Rugby EMS offers training opportunities for EMT-Basics, Advanced EMT’s and Paramedics-see below:

 

CPR Classes:

         -One morning and one evening class are offered each month

         -Special classes offered for groups and businesses

         *Classes are available to the public as well as hospital employees

 

First Aid Classes:

         -Classes available upon request

 

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support):

         -Multiple classes offered each year-contact for information

 

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support):

         -Multiple classes offered each year-contact for information

 

EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course):

         -We sponsor one class per year

 

EMT Basic Course:

         -Offered every other year
