Carol Shively Memorial Nursing Scholarship Applications Open November 15
The Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for the 2027 Carol Shively Memorial Nursing Scholarship open November 15, 2026.
The Foundation awards a $500 scholarship to a Rugby-area students who is pursuing or preparing to pursue a career in nursing. Preference is given to applicant who has been accepted into a nursing program and who is employed, or plans to be employed, by the Good Samaritan Hospital Association. This includes Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, its clinics in Rugby, Maddock, and Dunseith, as well as Haaland Estates Basic Care and Assisted Living Facility.
Application Deadline: February 15, 2027
Students interested in applying are encouraged to complete an application during the application period.

In Honor and Memory of
Carol Shively
Carol Shively was a former nursing assistant at Heart of America Medical Center. She was studying to become a nurse when she lost her life in a motor vehicle accident. The Carol Shivley Scholarship was initially established by friends and family and later was picked up by the Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation to be offered in perpetuity.
